Pete and Alice in Maine

I saw this book recommended - I’m about halfway through and sincerely cannot get into it. Has anyone read it? Does it get better? Literally nothing is happening…I’m pretty bored on chapter 5! I’ll keep going if it’s worth it. Thanks for your feedback!
