| Since I was a kid, I've looked forward to clementine season (November to March), but I can't seem to find them anywhere. I've been to countless grocers and can only find mandarins. They are not the same thing! Has anyone been able to find some honest-to-goodness clementines so for this season? |
| I’ve bought them from Wegmans. |
| I saw them at Wegmans this weekend (Tysons location). |

This is funny because I grabbed a bag of (what I thought were) clementines and when I gave one to my 4 y/o DD for a snack she took one bite and said "Mom, I don't like mandarins." I had to check the bag to see what she was talking about. Like, what? What kind of little citrus sommelier am I raising?
Anyway, since then I've been looking for clementines and finding the same thing you have, OP - it's all mandarins this year and I'm not sure why. |
| I bought some 3 days ago at Aldi. |

She was lost and gone forever.
Dreadful sorry. |
No- your daughter is on to something. The mandarin farmers are trying to trick us clementine lovers into eating them. It's a giant conspiracy and it really pisses me off. It's the same people that sell flavored versions of standard things and put teeny tiny letters at the bottom of the package so you don't notice. |
I think this is the best story I have ever read on here

The smiley face looks snarky wasn't my intention my response was sincere! |
I'm kind of shocked to hear that there is a difference! I thought most of the difference between orange/mandarin/clementine/whathaveyou is size and how easily one can peel. Now I have to buy both and eat them side by side to see if I notice a diffrence. |
