Need hope, measuring week behind.

Hi everyone, I just had my first ultrasound and I’m measuring around 5wks 5 days when they were expecting 6 wks 5 days …so around a week behind. No fetal pole but there was a yolk sak. Did anyone have a similar experience where things caught up?

I’m anxious and feeling discouraged after two prior miscarriages. I’m taking progesterone with this miscarriage so really trying to stay hopeful but also realistic.

I searched so many of these stories when I was measuring behind, there are definitely some where it caught up. Have you had your HCG tested?

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Anything is pretty possible at this point although dating is also pretty accurate at this stage. I think the honest answer is that the odds of a healthy pregnancy are highest here if there is anything nontraditional about your dates -- do you have long menstrual cycles and/or ovulate late? That could subtract a few days from what they expected to see.

Thank you for this. Yes, its definitely possible. I had just miscarried in October so we were honestly not expecting this pregnancy so soon and I was not tracking ovulation this time. They tested me and found low progesterone so I've been on that to help maintain this pregnancy. I'm hoping it's possible that I ovulated late.

I measured about a week behind with both viable and unviable pregnancies (first viable pregnancy I was not tracking ovulation, second and third I was). I definitely tend to ovulate later than what is “typical.”Hopefully that is the case for you this cycle! The waiting is so hard, good luck!
