In the market and wondering if people actually do this? Is it worth it to look? They offering any deals that dealerships aren’t?
|
People do. Is it a good idea? No.
We did. We got a much better price than just buying used. The type of car we got wasn’t a good choice, but I don’t know if that was the fault of it being a rental. It had 20k miles I think when we got it.
I did in 2018. It was a 2016 Kia Soul with about 40,000 miles on it for just under 10k. It's been a great car for me, so far no work other than routine maintenance and a new serpentine belt. The experience was also incredibly easy. I had seen it on the website, got my financing set, and walked right in to test drive and buy it.
We did twice. Great experience both times. The one we bought in 2010 is still running.
I used to work for enterprise and staffed some of the car sales. Way back when, the cars weren’t super well maintained so I’d be a bit cautious. But you can certainly get deals.
I would. I ended up buying new as I couldn't get what i wanted. If you look at places like car max, they get their cars often from car rentals.
My parents have done this. No problems with the cars.
