Would you say something to the vet if the “training receptionist” was rude?

We have been waiting for results to see if our 6 year old dog has terminal lymphoma. We love the vet and have had a great experience. It’s a small town and the biopsy was sent to a university and due to the holiday weekend we have been waiting over 7 days. I called this morning, the first day they are open in 4 days. As you can imagine it’s been a dark cloud over the holidays and we are anxious to know next steps, she’s in a lot of pain and has large tennis ball size masses growing on her rib cage. The receptionist was super rude and condescending like I was ridiculous to be calling and checking up and said something about “ok, I really don’t have time to check if your results are in, we have 3 emergencies going on and she will get back to us another time”… her tone was so incredibly rude. Would you let the vet know you had a bad experience?

I wouldn’t.
Only do this if it happens again.

Everybody has a hard day sometimes.

If she’s rude and it becomes a problem, the vet owner already knows and is giving her a lifeline .. for now.

You would be within your rights to complain, OP.
It's likely their first opening day is filled with emergencies and everyone is highly stressed, which would explain, but not excuse, her tone. Personally I would let it go, but I understand if you want to mention it to the vet.

I would give her another chance. It makes me appreciate my super friendly vet receptionists!

I would say something. She’s training and her cs skills can be corrected.

This. If she is a trainee the vet needs to know this is happening.

1000000% yes. She is in a position where even if she doesn't care she needs to come across like she cares as it's her BLEEPING job. Tell the vet.

As someone whose friend is a vet and has several locations of their practice, yes please say something. You can choose your delivery method so if you want to keep it light and say maybe they were overwhelmed or having a bad day and are hoping it’s not the norm, the vet wants to know this. Especially if the employee is in a training capacity. They may just need more oversight. When my friend opens a new location, they want to ensure that their clients receive the same level of service they’re used to.
