think my car is dead -- where to start looking

OK, I think our Chevy Traverse is finally dead ... It's a 2009. We have not really looked at cars like we should have been doing as we knew our car was getting older. We can't really afford a new car right now (or a used one), but it is what it is. Where would you start looking? We have one kid who's 13. She's an athlete and we do sometimes have occasion to carpool groups of kids to practices, etc. We live in MoCo, but willing to travel.

We've been talking about a smaller SUV and possibly a hybrid.

Used car prices have come down since 2022. Consider something like a three year old Subaru Forester that’s coming off a lease and has only 25,000 miles on it. Check Car Guru for used cars in your area.
