My frozen embryo transfer will be in another city and I need a local monitoring solution for preparing the lining and then for monitoring after the transfer. Online I see that Kindbody may be a solution because they have a price list and $4-5k seems reasonable.
My concern is whether Kindbody is reputable and trustworthy for the job? I read some poor reviews and they seem like a place that parks vans around to attract 20-30 something’s to consider egg freezing. It’s clearly the opposite end of the spectrum from an academic medical center! However, it may be adequate for my purposes? The price is right. Any feedback appreciated! |
| Didn’t some internal documents get released saying that they were pushing doctors for more egg retrievals to meet some quota? I would be hesitant with so much at stake. |

I already had my eggs collected. My embryo is at a clinic in another city. I would not have an egg collection at Kindbody, nor I would not utilize their lab. I would only have monitoring, but they don't exactly inspire confidence.

Actually, I should have Googled some before asking. I just came across an article about the company's woe's: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-10-13/kindbody-fertility-clinic-embryo-errors-spotlight-ivf-business-risks
Hard pass on Kindbody! It is too bad. The locations are good and the transparent pricing is much appreciated, but there is no way I could possibly trust this place. |
| FWIW, their lab was put together by embryologists at GW and has a number of people trained by GW. So it should be a respectable lab and very similar to the one that used to exist at GW. Regardless, I definitely got "spa IVF experience for young women who want to freeze their eggs and don't have real challenges" vibes from them and declined to go with them. |
| The costs they post are mostly higher than the Shady Grove self-pay rates (at least the ones I am familiar with). Although, you have to be a patient to get the exact costs for your SGF location, which I agree is annoying. |
| do you mean $4k just for monitoring?!?! Or to do the actual FET? |
