Our son was admitted to Penn State University Park. We're taking him for an admitted student program/tour this winter. For those who are familiar, can you recommend a hotel? I googled and found several options near by, including the Penn Stater. I want this visit to go well and feel comfortable so hoping for a hotel that feels cheery. Any recommendations? Thanks.
We stayed at The Graduate, which was walkable to everything. But, it was only for one night.
Thanks, PP. I stay in The Graduate in Annapolis several times a year for work and really like it. Hoping the one at Penn State is as nice. -OP
The Penn Stater is nice. Convenient to the campus. I'd stay there.

OP here. Yeah, the Graduate has a two night minimum for the night that we need, so I'll check out the Penn Stater. THanks very much.

The Graduate, the Hyatt (Hyatt Place), and the Scholar.
Many of the big sports weekends, parents' weekend, Greek life parents' weekend, etc. have two night minimums everywhere. You might want to cross reference the accepted student program with other of the PSU calendars to avoid this. |
I would try to stay downtown so you can walk around for dinner, shopping, campus.
Hyatt Place downtown is the best location for walking everywhere and not having to use your car.
We stayed at Hyatt Place and it was great. We loved Penn State when my DC went to admitted students day. Ended up choosing a smaller school, but really loved the vibe at Penn State! Congrats.
Stayed at the Penn Stater for an event and it was quite nice!
