Smaller engineering schools near DC?

I am looking for smaller schools with mechanical engineering within a few hours of DC.

Ideas?

Lafayette

I've heard wonderful things about Lafayette. Wake Forest is a great school too and it's 4 hours away.

Not near DC, but Rose Hulman and Clarkson are both small, undergrad focused engineering schools.

What kind of student? Carnegie Melon or York College of PA?

UVA Engineering is small. About 500 ugrad students/year across all majors.

More CMU than York, but we're looking for safeties and targets with good financial aid, so not CMU. Also we're looking for schools closer than CMU.

We’re fine with close! Really looking for schools within 2 hours, due to a medical need.
