Broken KitchenAid Stand Mixer

Anonymous
I broke my stand mixer and it won’t turn anymore. Where’s a good place to get it fixed.

Or has anyone ever fixed it before? What’s the right screw driver for the two screws that hold the top cover in place? Seems to be a square screw head?

Thanks

You can usually find a set of screw drivers with a variety of heads at the hardware store — look for hex sets, etc (some come with the square heads).

You can send it to one of the kitchen aid authorized repairers. It was fast and inexpensive and made my mixer better than ever. 25 years and going strong. I'm a professional baker and use it for test recipes and small batches

You can try a YouTube video. Mine was too difficult and I returned it to KitchenAid for repair as I couldn’t find a repair shop. Just call them and they will walk you through the process.

Is it worth it? I loathe that repairs are not worthwhile vs just buying a new product.
-have a kitchen aid sitting here waiting to get its rattle tightened up

How much was it to repair through KA? Did you have to ship it to them?
