Anyone not feeling the holiday/Christmas vibes this year?

Anonymous
Usually I'm into the holidays whether it's baking or watching Hallmark movies or whatever. This year - I'm grateful for the time off but other than that eh I'd rather just sit and watch crappy football bowl games and eat toast or PBJ or Cheez Its. Like I don't even want to bother traveling or wishing others happy holidays or with gifts - either giving or receiving.

Anyone else?

Well, I'm jewish, so I rarely am. But this year was extra depressing because this was the first year of going to a relative's house where they had no hanukah decorations visible from the street, and that I had to put all my gifts in brown paper bags so nobody on the train would be able to see the hanukah wrapping paper.

This was the first year my office didn't put up any hanukah decorations at ALL.

One of the idiot HR people insisted on a mandatory lunch for all admin in the office this past week. I claimed a dr appt because there was no way I was going to be in an enclosed room with 50 people without a mask. They only canceled it the day before after four different people announced they had Covid. So she switched it to an online coffee and chat thing, which she implied was mandatory but then just asked people to go around announcing their favorite Christmas decoration in their home and favorite Christmas food they'll be having. I left the chat.

I’m stuck at the il’s on the annual obligatory trip. We just sit around and watch tv most days. I could have done this at home and spent much less money. I only do this trip so my husband won’t divorce me at this point.

At least my husband agreed to let us stay elsewhere so i’m not forced to share a bathroom with 6 other people and sleep in my BIL’s bed.
