Currently, drive a 2012 Toyota Rav4 with 200k miles which is on its last legs. I know nothing of cars so thought I'd start by asking for some recommendations. Our other car is a 2009 Honda civic with about 100k miles, if that helps. Basically, want a reliable car to drive into the ground.
Wants: EV or hybrid of some variety Good for longer drives Need to be able to transport a fair amount of stuff--likely an SUV or minivan Seating for 5 (probably don't need a third row of seats) Highly rated for safety Solid, practical, reliable car What kind of car/model would you recommend? Please explain what I need like I'm dumb. Because I am dumb when it comes to cars. I don't even know what my options are and this is not something that I care too much about. Help me car people! |
| If you like the RAV4 why not just get a newer one? I have a Honda CRV with almost 100k miles that I’ll keep a few more years hopefully. When it dies I’ll get another one. We have one dog and one kid and I need AWD for work. |

How the hell did you manage to kill a Toyota in 200,000 miles? WTH?
I’m not really sure what to tell you to get, because it probably won’t last you 75,000 miles, given that kind of history. |
| I got rid of my 2014 Rav4 this year and got a Lexus. It is so much better. |
So what you’re saying is, a new car seems nicer than a 10 year old one? Someone steer me to my fainting couch! |
