Where is your kid applying?

Where were they waitlisted or dinged?

Last year, my DD applied ED2 to Vandy and was rejected. It’s so competitive.

I can’t think of any schools (other than UVa) that waitlist at this point. You’re deferred, rejected or accepted.

My kid doesn’t want to apply ED2 but is applying to schools RD that all have ED2 (Colgate; Rice; WashU; Vandy etc)….bad idea right?

How can I convince him??

Show him the RD stats-pretty grim. A lot of schools try to fill in ED2.

Convince him to pick other schools for RD? Or to ED2 to one of them? I would not do the latter.

Deferred from Cornell.

Not applying ED2 anywhere else. Still set on Cornell. Applying RD to a bunch of other schools this week.

Unless he is waiting on a ed1/rea deferral or an ea admit he really wants, it makes no sense not to ED2 at his top choice of RD schools that offer ED2.

I know in past years Cornell has accepted people after they go to another school for a year. Good luck maybe they will offer that.

He’s waiting on a northwestern deferral…not happening I think.

Do you think ED2 to Emory or Vandy or Colgate right? Given he’s planning to apply their RD?

He’s waiting to hear from Michigan early action too in late January….
