We forgot gifts for teachers

I had covid, DH was TDY, I could barely get the kids on the bus, much less remember to order gift cards. Do I sent them in January?

Yes bring them when you return. Say happy new year.

Teacher here. Please don’t worry about it! We would rather you get healthy.

I am most grateful for the cards I receive. If you are very concerned, perhaps you can just send an email. It’s the words of encouragement and support that are most valuable these days. But seriously, you don’t need to do anything. We’re just doing our jobs!

There's always teacher appreciation week. I usually have my kids write the holiday card and send a gift card with it, then write a note myself for teacher appreciation week. Later in the school year so you have more specific things to mention.

You could do an e-gift card from Amazon. Or just do something for teacher appreciation week instead.

I skip. No guilt. I have a lot going on. Making a nice Xmas for my children and family and all the prep and work that goes along with it is a ton of work - I’m not adding 18 teachers to that.

Why would the bus driver get the least amount??

In K we did $20 for many teachers. It added up.
The following year it was $15.
We also gave something worth $5 to every specials teacher.

Then kids wanted to pick out gifts so we gave gifts just to the math and reading teachers and their favorite specials teachers.

This year it's just the home room teacher.

Bus driver gets a gift every year during the Holidays and year end. He is the sweetest.

We take the bus AM only and pay like $500 for the privilege. Drivers get paid over $20/hr in my area which is more than I make. And… he’s a nice guy but regularly gets lost and the kids are late lol.

Visa gift cards come in e-form. You can email a visa gift card to each.

No forget it. It’s expensive and not worth it. Relax and have a drink.

I forgot too but I’m probably not going to worry about it after winter break. Usually my kids are begging to go and get their teachers a gift but they haven’t really liked any of their teachers this year.
