Lowest HSPT score Gonzaga and SJC accept

Anonymous
It’s been asked before but what typically is the lowest composite score that Gonzaga or SJC accept for their admissions threshold?

Can they dunk?

It really depends.

Are u coming from a ADW school?

How many kids from your school have Gonzaga as a #1 choice.

Historically how many kids in your class go to Gonzaga?

Are you blocked by people with hooks?

Those things matter way more than your test scores.

Not coming from an ADW school.

My white kid was accepted to both from DCPS as a non-Catholic with an average score around 80%.

If the score is super low, make sure they have someone internal advocating for them- ie coach, director of a specialty program. Otherwise, do they stand out in some other way? Grades, extracurriculars, service?

My child took this test on December 2. Do you know how long it takes to receive scores?

Depends where your student took it. If at an Arlington diocese school, you should already have it. If an ADW school, end of January (01/25 or 01/26 last year?).

for a recruited athlete or minority student, you are in the running with any score, but you can feel pretty confident with a 50 or above. for regular students, 60+ for SJC and 80+ for Gonzaga.

I love how a white non-athletic student is categorized as “regular.” I guess everyone else is special!

Please…if your kid is really good at sports or is recruited or have an instead legacy (brother or brothers) it doesn’t matter. They (Gonzaga) take kids in the 30’s-60’s. Don’t sweat it.

Gonzaga views these scores more for kids in catholic schools because they have been prepped for the test. If you are coming from public they understand that your child didn’t have school practice and practice tests and look more at your school record.

Not all Catholic schools prep students for HSPT.

I would love to know which schools prep for the test. Ours did not.
