Lots of action and drama at Oyster Adams lately!

In addition to last week's unexpected resignation by the principal, at aftercare pick up today there was a large gathering of police with a variety of vehicles inside the entry way, preventing entry through the main doors. The students were released through a side door and seemed to not have been impacted by the disturbance but it is more than a little unnerving to walk up to a large police presence at your child's school.

We eventually got an email: "EVERYONE IS SAFE. There is a confidential matter that involves the police."

Lots of questions from my child on the way out. Hoping for a quiet end to the semester tomorrow!

Yes, police at school is unnerving but it sounds like this may have been related to a familial dispute (custody?).
The school officer reassured us that everyone was safe and that it was not serious.
