MES Musical Ear Syndrome

Elderly mother had surgery for fractured hip and she started hearing someone singing Happy Birthday in the hospital. Now at home and months later, she is still saying that she hears the singing periodically. Doing a quick search shows this MES condition, maybe caused by the combination of hearing loss and the anesthesia. Does anyone have any knowledge of this and can recommend a treatment?

Find a doctor for this beyond Dr Google and Dr DCUM. Ask her PCP and surgeon for recommendations, check with an ENT, gerontologist, or hearing specialist to see if they can treat her.
