Used Power Boosters, is that okay?

I had to replace my power boosters. My mechanic whom I trust 100% replaced it with an used power boosters. He said new ones are too expensive. While I have known him for many years, I trust he is looking after my best interest, I wonder if this was right decision. what do you say experts?

google power brake booster. it's a part of your car's braking system.
