I dunno, there’s just zero room for growth at my company and they keep hiring/promoting terrible people. Every single day now seems like a chore. I am at the point now where I plan only to sign in from 8-4:30 everyday and that’s it. No. I will not answer emails in th3 night or weekends anymore. I plan on demanding maximum use of my vacation this upcoming year, which equates to 370 hours of PTO. For years I have not used all of my vacation and it rolled over. No more. Maxing it out. I also plan on saying no directly to my boss whenever they want someone to do a presentation, attend an outside meeting and need a rep, or need someone to take a file because they’re swamped. Planning on doing my job description to a T and that’s it.
Anyone else just completely fine with their trash leadership and company and quiet quitting in 2024? Man, I’m so looking forward to 370 hours off. |
| Don't be a coward, start now. |
| Bravo, OP! |
I did that for two years. Still liked my job but didnt do weekends and took all my time off. It just made me more efficient and i got promoted
|
| I'm going to loudly (actually) quit. |
|
W work remote and am thinking about getting a second full time remote position
I think I can pull it off |
+10000 Double and even triple dip all you can. |
|
Doing your job is not quiet quitting!!!
Never poop on your your time. |
I'm assuming you don't have a LinkedIn profile? |
Yes, obviously you stay quiet and don’t put in all of your jobs on social media. Employers don’t need to know every aspect of your life. |
|
Cool. Promote yourself to the top of the list of people to be made redundant when the time comes.
Why not just find a different job? You obviously have issues with your employer. |
| I’m all for quiet quitting but if I can nitpick at your plan - I don’t think that that means actually using the word “no.” Try “forgetting to respond to emails or “missing seeing” them, or delaying your response to see if the situation works itself out on its own. |
Exactly. And then when backed into a corner and you have to do the thing, do a half assed job. |
| I work at a Christian school and this year instead of a bonus they sent us a Christmas prayer. Great! I will just take that prayer to the Giant and buy myself some steaks. I’m sure they accept Christmas prayers, right? |

Do it, OP!
I’m actually quitting my job because it’s become unbearable. But quiet quitting is also amazing! Burn every last second of that PTO. Then take FMLA if you can for a few months. |
