Need a cookbook recommendation for Christmas - easy dinners

Anonymous
I plan to buy my SIL a cookbook as a present. She is looking for an easy dinner cookbook. Her kids are pretty good eaters, but one can be picky so stapes like chicken and pasta are usually on the menu. The three I've found in "Best of" lists are ok, but not really hitting the mark -

Simple Harvest - sounds kind of fussy, lots of fancy ingredients
-Well Plated by Erin - this is a maybe, but seems to have lots of variation on a theme like overnight oats and pizza
-Melissa Clark Dinner in One - I have looked at this one and I'm not sure I buy it's really dinner in one pot or pan.

Any reviews from users on here or a recommendation for a good all around weeknight dinner cookbook?

Thanks.

What about Jamie Oliver's 5 ingredient series? I've made a few of his recipes and very easy, also easy to add more ingredients if you feel like it.

Joanna Gaines’ cookbooks are very family friendly. Lots of recipes come with the more labor intensive version and the quick check versions - ie do you really need to make dumplings from scratch or can grands biscuits and rotisserie chicken get the same meal on the table?

I like the Well Plated cookbook and use it often. I also need quick dinners and have children with varying pickiness.

I got the Melissa Clark dinner in one from the library and didn't find it kid friendly and a lot of the meals required more work than I expected.

Rachel Ray if you’re looking for quick, easy and her food actually tastes quite good. I find all the others too much for weeknights.

Have you looked at any of the six o’clock scramble ones? It’s an online service but she also has hardcopy books. The recipes are decent - and all made to be fairly easy. It is not great food. It is easy food. And comes with shopping lists.

Pioneer Woman just published one called "Dinner's Ready" for the holiday gift-giving season. Not many simpler "chefs" out there, and her stuff is usually very kid-friendly too.

Trisha Yearwood is really good but simple home cooking recipes.
