| I need some ideas! I love this sub genre for audiobook listens. Thanks! |

Minka Kelly's memoir focuses on her dysfunctional childhood. Also, Jeanette McCurdy, Viola Davis and Ms Pat memoirs.
Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall There Are No Children Here by Alex Kotlowicz Jesus Land by Julia Scheeres Escape by Carolyn Jessop Breaking Night by Liz Murray |
| Minimal abuse but Born a Crime by Trevor Noah was a great autobiography. |
|
Truth Be Told by Bev McLachlin
Counting the Cost by Jill Duggar All the Young Men by Ruth Coker Burk Pageboy by Elliot Page I haven’t read the Glass Castle (but I just put it on hold because it looks good) but I really enjoyed Educated and liked listening to these four too. Not quite memoirs but other audiobooks that felt similar to them were Hidden Valley Road and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. |

This one is terrific (same title, but it is different than the movie)
The Kids Are All Right: A Memoir https://a.co/d/5c93IpS Wave (the author’s family was killed in a tsunami) Wave: A Memoir https://a.co/d/fQzXv7Y |
I agree, really enjoyed it |

The Liar's Club / Mary Karr
Men We Reaped / Jesmyn Ward Travels With Lizbeth / Lars Eighner Just Kids / Patti Smith The Year of Magical Thinking / Joan Didion |
| Demon Copperhead, fiction, reads very much like Glass Castle & Educated in terms of place/trauma |
| I can’t quote you all, but this OP and THANK YOU, all of you! These are such excellent suggestions and many titles that are new to me. |
| I highly highly recommend The Great Santini by Pat Conroy (RIP). It’s fictionalized, but based on his life. Reads like a memoir. |
| Reading The Unwinding of the Miracle by Julie Yip-Williams right now and it's very good. It's been on my shelf for a couple of years but a beloved relative was diagnosed with advanced cancer so I couldn't bear to pick it up for a while. |
| Oldie but goodie - Angela’s Ashes |
Wave, while not the most literary prose, was absolutely crushing. I read it closer to when it came out, years and years ago. And think of it a lot. |

Driving with Dead People
Monica Holloway |
Yep, agree, I’m thinking of giving it a second read |
