No, the idiots on the board who closed the school haven't figured the rest of the story out yet. As of now, the former CES area will be divided amongst existing schools. Stay tuned.

It won't be decided for quite a while. My impression is that the Clifton ES parents haven't given up on this. It's going to take quite a while for FCPS to conduct a larger boundary study in that part of the county to deal with the over-crowding at other schools, such as Colin Powell ES, and the School Board is up for reelection in the fall of 2011.

If nothing else, the Springfield district representative who voted in favor of closing one of her own schools (Liz Bradsher) is likely to be defeated if she runs again; Pat Herrity and other Republican politicans in that part of the county are distancing themselves from her already.

Which schools are expect to absorb the Clifton kids?
I'm concerned my DC may be zoned out of a school that we are excited about and moved to our neighborhood for it.

No one knows at this point. Could be that a lot of boundaries will be redrawn and Clifton students could be sent to Union Mill, Willow Spirngs, Sangster, Fairfview, Oak View, Silverbrook etc, with some students at those schools being redistricted as well.
