Cannabis Incident at North Bethesda MS

Anonymous
Anyone hearing about kids buying edibles at North Bethesda today? Police apparently were called.

Why would the police be called unless there's fentanyl in them? Hasn't every HS since at least the 1950's had kids selling pot brownies/cookies?

It’s a middle school, genius.

I’m a parent there and I did not hear about it.

If you did not receive a letter from the school, then it's probably just a rumor. But you can call the school and ask for confirmation.

Police data has a call for it yesterday at 1:43pm.

Second time in a week there’s been a cannabis incident at an MCPS middle school. The kids are not OK.

And they are often getting it from crazy family members. This year I have had to deal with some real nutter parents. There are some major mental health problems and homelessness out there at the moment. I feel sorry for the kids in these situations.

Agree these kids almost always get it from their parents or other family members. It’s so easy for adults to get it now that they probably don’t even notice it’s missing from their stash.

I teach at a middle school and the police weren't called when students were smoking pot in the bathroom. The principal was nearby the bathroom at the time and he did nothing.

Your school needs a new principal.

Then get the NBMS PTA involved and complain to the Principal that there needs to be better communication about these things, and that the community wants to know when these things happen, and what the school does when it happens.

My kids are in the next cluster over (BCC), and parents at the high school are up in arms over the Principal's handling of several incidents - we're having meetings to demand better communication and transparency. Westland MS is relatively OK with its communication, I feel.

This seems only to be a problem at W feeders. Maybe they're the only schools where kids have the $$$ for this sort of thing.
