Which grocery stores sell crab legs for a decent price?

Frozen crab legs are fine. Surprisingly, my three mac and cheese picky eaters love crab legs! But it's not like we can go to seafood restaurants all the time. TIA!

Giant usually has good prices, especially when they are on sale. They will steam them for you, with seasoning while you wait for I think an extra dollar per pound. They also usually have several kinds: alaskan, snow, etc.

What is the seasoning? Old Bay?

The quality and price of Costco's crab legs cannot be beat.

How do you prepare crab legs at home? my kids also LOVE them, but I've never actually cooked them at home.

Yes, Old Bay at Giant. And they usually ask if you the level of spice you want. You can also get them steamed with no spice. I have been very happy with them...check out their weekly Sunday ads - that is when they are on sale for either 4.99 or 5.99 a lb?

Silly question - are they more fresh during the sale or not really?

Giant and Safeway both have regular sales. I think they were on sale last week, so not this week. I would check next week's circular. I think they are fresh if on sale or regular price. Also, Costco and Sams both have good prices on them in the frozen section. I never have the stores steam mine. I put some water in a pan and put the legs in and put them in a hot oven for about 8 mins. and they are delish.

You can use a regular steamer, not too long though or they will be tough.

That Old Bay sh*t absolutely ruins seafood. No way would I pay someone to add it. I can't imagine who thought of that stuff. No one I know likes it. It's crap. Makes me sick just thinking of it.

The guy at Giant told me that all of their crab legs come in frozen, regardless of a sale or not. And the Old Bay comment - I guess that is a matter of taste - I actually like it! And I must not be the only one or they would sell even potato chips with Old Bay!

Go down to the wharf! Not only is it fun to wander around, everything is really fresh. You can get them steamed and seasoned right in front of you if you want.

OP here again. What temp do you have the oven set to? And how much water? Like an inch?
