Holistic Dr for ADHD alternative supplement/therapies?

Anonymous
I have 2 kids in MS.

One has ADHD and the other anxiety. We've tried through the past years various medication to address ADHD, and there is one (generic focalin) that works better than the others (less side effects). With every medicine, the side effects are problematic (insomnia, anxiety, loss of appetite) to some degree. There is a national shortage of ADHD meds impacting our Rx. I do not embrace the idea of switching to another similar one because it is my opinion that the shortages of many brands will happen it's just a matter of time. It's not sustainable to keep switching and spend my hours looking for medication that isn't ideal for my kid. My other kid suffers from social anxiety (but also has signs of anxiety overall but she doesn't experience anything super physical when anxious). I'd like to start her on something however and nip this earlier rather than later. Both are also with therapists.

We have a Rx for Prozac for anxiety, but I'd like to see if we can find something other than just a SSRI. I think she may ultimately benefit from a SSRI but my ADHD kid I think could likely look at alternative therapies (this kid is currently on Zoloft and we think he's experiencing terrible side effects of moodiness from the dosage level currently).

I'd like to figure out who I may be able to explore alternative natural therapies with. Is that a holistic Doctor? Are there any who work with the 12-14 yr old set in NOVA? I am wanting info on options for supplements we may be able to try ie Magnesium, L-Theanine, etc. The Olly brand of supplements looked interesting to me but before I spend a zillion $$ buying random brands of supplements, I wanted to figure out if anyone has had experience with this kind of path? Thanks for feedback/referrals.
