World History over the summer?

My DS wants to take World History over the summer? Any thoughts? How hard is this class?

What level? Any history class has the potential to be harder on a compressed summer schedule. Is the purpose to add an additional class or replace a class during the school year?

Do check if it would effect his GPA negatively. Mist schools only offer regular courses with unweighted GPA, no AP, IB or honors classes with weighted GPA.
