Any intel from the first one last night? I’m not sure I’ll be able attend the remaining two. Were proposed scenarios shared?

I believe I’m understanding this right- Bancroft will retain deal-JR. there are still options being considered for a dual language feeder for MS/HS and annex option for PreK.

So the direct meetings with the schools impacted...

What are the changes being considered for Janney and Wells? Anyone know?

It sounds like Janney and Mann boundaries are being considered (which I honestly don’t remember being mentioned before)

Meeting happening right now in case anyone wants to join

We looked at what would happen if we modified Wells/Coolidge boundaries and it causes too many problems for the feeder elementaries. Really the only options left are reducing OOB seats and recommending building expansion and/or moving Wells to another (TBD) facility.

Confirmed one of the things being considered is OOB feeder rights. She did mention that it reduced at risk on average by 2-6%.

I feel seen and heard. All the strategies I've suggested are being discussed. Highest among them would be at risk set aside for all schools until said school is 30% at risk. By name, they said biggest opportunity schools would be Brent, Lafayette, and Oyster Adams.

Looks like Hardy and MacArthur will take more of Woodley Park (that currently feeds O-A and JR) and western parts of AU Park (that currently feed to Deal-JR).

Not sure how all these additional kids will be squeezed into Hardy.

Southern part of Mt Pleasant (south of Irving) will be re-zoned out of Deal-JR and instead sent to CHEC and Cardozo. Core wealthy section of Mount P still retains their moat of protection in Deal-JR.

No change to Shepherd, as widely predicted.

But that wouldn’t make sense with adding OOB at risk set asides. I’m only half listening though so correct me if I’m wrong.
