Labor and Birthing Experience at Georgetown Hospital?

Anonymous
I'd love to hear of your birthing experiences at Georgetown Hospital. I am at 31.5 weeks with my first baby and starting to think about what to expect.
Any advice, tips or just plain old stories would be welcome.

Thanks!

there is a GH thread right below this that will be helpful for you to check out as well...in general, i loved my GH experience. i delivered my son there and am now 23wks prego and will deliver #2 as well. i'm a high risk OB mama, so it's perfect for me, NICU was great (as great as a NICU can be) and i love academic medicine so the more residents, students, fellows looking at my chart and helping me, the merrier in my opinion. i think GH can work for almost everyone, but it does have a traditional medical feel to it, so the no intervention birthplan might be tricky at GH-but hopefully you and your OB are a good match, and i can assure you that you will have a very safe birth, the nurses are extremely competent, and you can page for a lactation consultant any day of the week! best of luck to you

I had my DD there in 2005. The L&D nurses were exceptional. Loved them. The post-partum care and nurses were awful. I was not like the pp - I hated having a million people in my room every 20-30 minutes and they just seemed kind of put out. I won't deliver #2 there.
