In Gaithersburg (and north) we’ve got a nice layer of snow on grass, trees, partially on walks, and the roads are slick. 2 hrs makes sense - it’ll be light so everyone can see, and the roads will be a little warmer to melt anything icy. Welcome to winter weather fun! |

| We got a couple of inches in Travilah! It’s drizzling and I think it will be gone before the kids wake up but it’s pretty. MCPS blows it again by not letting it be a school by school delay when our roads are warm from yesterdays nice temperatures and it’s not icy. But I’m happy, I love having my children home!! |

I teach in Gaithersburg. The problem is that a good chunk of our staff lives north, even many in Frederick. Some of our kids are fro. Up there, too, and join us for magnet programs. We also have a large special ed program that buses most of the kids in. |

| I have a doctor appointment at 10:15, but I can’t get my kid to school now until 10:45… BS! It’s been above freezing the whole time! Lazy |

| I got woken up by robo calls to both my home and cell phones at 5:40 this morning. Is this new? In the past I’ve just gotten a text and email. It would have been nice to sleep in a little! |

| It was clear that there was no preparation (or expectation?) of what happened. I woke up at 3:30 and couldn't get back to sleep. It was snowing huge snowflakes at that time and the grass and road were getting covered. Later it turned to drizzle and the completely untreated road turned into an icy slushy mess. I think it's a good call. I imagine in 2hrs it will be fine. |
