Where to find caretaker for my mom a few hours a day

Not sure where to begin searching. My mom has Parkinson’s and needs help bathing, getting dressed, and maybe going for a walk outside with her. Where do I find someone who is qualified to do this? Thanks for your thoughts!

We are using: https://www.familynursingcare.com/
They're in Silver Spring, MD, but I know they serve DC and elsewhere.
Some nurses are better than others, or "get" your parent better. Be outspoken about ones you like and ones that aren't a good fit.
Good luck, OP!

I hired all my mom's caregivers on Care.com. We did not like the agencies because they often have minimum hours per week requirements, and because they sent people that sometimes were not suitable. For example, the agency sent people who barely spoke English (my mom could not understand them at all) or people who violated the terms of our agreement such as asking to bring family members over with them while they cared for her, etc. On Care.com you do have to vet each person thoroughly, check references, interview them etc. but we have had good luck.

We live in Laurel, so my sources are in MD. When my brother-in-law was invalided before he passed, he used Home Instead based in Pasadena. They were good because they took his Medicare and were willing to do part-time care. They would send an aide out for a few hours at a time. I think he was limited to something like 20 hours per week and the aide would come for 5 4-hour visits. She would take him to run errands, and would help him with basic care including making him lunch, helping to the rest room (he just needed mobility help, not bathroom help), helping him change the sheets on his bed, help him make sure his hearing aids, phone, tablet were all charged, etc. We had a few caretakers. One was really great, one was good and one was below average.

We had a friend who used Warman Home care for part-time care for an in-home parent a few years ago, but I don't know many details about their agreements as it wasn't my family. I just know that they seemed happy with the service.
