| Did I ever figure out what an award I won was mad and what it was for. Shortly after I graduated I got a package in the mail, slightly damaged and inside it was a plaque with Westgroup Outstanding Achievement Award. There was no letter or anything explaining what it was for. It’s called something slightly different now but it’s an award for having the highest gpa in an academic year |
|
Because it was some promotional award from Westgroup? It wasn't really from your law school. I'm sure there was a deal in the software purchasing contract that the student with the highest gpa would get that award. It was sent out without care or regard to who you were.
Also, what difference does it make now? 21 years later? |
| Congrats! Better late than never!! |
|
You received it then and only figured this out now?
OK. |
| Sounds like a an honor - congrats! |
I see the pissy Cheerio brigade is up and at ‘em today! |
There was absolutely no explanation what it was for. I looked online 15 or so years ago and there was nothing other than people listing they won it |
Why didn't you ask? Seems like it would make sense to find out what it is to see if it was worth putting on your resume when you were looking for jobs. |
| CELEBRATE your achievement!!!!!!! Highest gpa - that is awesome. |
I googled it. doesn't exist, unless somehow related to WestGroup in Irvine, CA. So what is the new name? |
| You may have won a book award for the highest grade in a particular first year law school class. Not all law schools participate. Not a big deal. |
Don’t be a dick. Congrats op |
We're really supposed to be saying congrats to OP who couldn't be bothered for 21 years to email her school to ask about an award she received in the mail? |
| I’m so glad that 21 years out of law school it never occurs to be to brag about my law school pedigree. |
this. i barely remember law school at this point, 17 years out. |
