I use the free version of Pandora (and have for almost 10 years) but am thinking of upgrading to the paid version of it or Spotify.
Pros and cons of each? Which do you prefer and why? |
|
I like Spotify because I can choose which songs I want to listen to specifically. You can't do that with Pandora, or at least you couldn't when I used it years ago.
Spotify's catalog is also bigger. |
| i use Spotify because its on my tesla, phone and other car |
| I love pandora- I pick one song i like and a playlist appears, different everytime that I can talyor to my likes/dislikes. I don't like to hear the same group of sounds each time and i like to mix up the artists. Pandora does this all for me. |
Spotify can do the same... |
| I didn’t even know Pandora still existed. |
| I've never tried Pandora but I love Spotify. Its seamless between phone and car app and the algorithms generate pretty good playlists. My kid uses Spotify for his Audiobooks and I love that they're available for free (up to a certain hour limit per month of listening) and they have titles that we'd have to wait a long time for at the library. |

I use them both a lot. Pandora plays most of the day in my office. Basically background music where I don't have to think a lot about what to play.
We have a family Spotify account. We all use it a little differently, but I mostly use it for playlists that I tend to listen to on nights and weekends. |
| I use and subscribe to Spotify premium. They now offer audiobooks to download. I thought they were included but aren’t. |
| We have free pandora and paid spotify. It think spotify has more music but i like the algorithms better on pandora, so if I don’t know what i want to listen to i use pandora but 90% of the time i use spotify |
| I love Pandora. Didn't like Spotify. Pandora premium is worth it. |
|
Am I a dork for using Apple Music?
|
| I use ad-free Pandora. I've heard that they pay more to the artists than Spotify does and I am all for musicians getting paid for their work. |
| I didn't even know Pandora was still around. We do spotify and I really like it. |
| Spotify is still bad at shuffling around a song. It tends to get way too specific and no matter how much you fast forward it keeps playing the same stuff. It’s better for specific songs and playlists. Pandora is better at simulating a more random “radio”, which makes sense because SiriusXM owns it. I do wish that I could press a “random shuffle” button on my SXM channels, like First Wave, etc. in the car. |
