It is blank.
Glad to see Pyle is a 10. I know these numbers don't mean much but they help real estate prices. |
Weren't they a 3 a few years ago when most kids refused to take the PARCC? |
|
I mean, the explanation on DCUM was that Whitman kids were so sophisticated that they tanked the test on purpose.
That was never substantiated, but the scores did eventually partially rebound. |
As strange as it was, they went from a 9 or 10 to a 3 and back to a 9 or 10 a year later so the explanation rings true. I can understand why some might tank the test. It's not like they want to spend days on this just to meet some state requirements. |
I mean.. wouldn't that apply to most HS kids regardless of their income or race? |
True, I'm not a Whitman parent or anything but this pattern didn't happen elsewhere. |
Whitman is a ten whether they get one on GS or not. The Woodacres/Pyle/Whitman trio is the best in the country. |
Best is subjective. They are rated highly but if they had a different population and parental income they would be no better or worse than any other school in the county. You are just lucky it goes by income and housing prices. |
| Can anyone post the Whitman senior destinations instagram link? That is one way to compare to outcomes at other area high schools. |

I guess it is a way to compare outcomes. Actually relying on it to make judgments about how your kid would do in different schools would seem pretty stupid though. |
| They probably just "refused" to retake the PARCC like they were three that year. At least, that's what many Whitman parents claimed. |
Probably...They have very few low-income students dragging down their average like most other MCPS HS so they should have a high score. |
Country? Scarsdale High School would like a word. |
