Driving to Annapolis Friday evening

Made plans to meet someone in Annapolis around 8 on Friday (coming from MoCo inside the beltway).
What would make more sense/reduce traffic frustration— leaving around 5 pm and getting dinner in Annapolis first, or leaving around 7 and just meeting up? |

| Holiday school breaks coming up traffic will be hit or miss I would go on the early side. I drive NoVa McLean to Annap every evening it could be an hour or 2.5. Fridays are typically a crap shoot. |
