Mt. Olivet in Arlington

I have heard good things about Mt. Olivet. Does anyone have any experience there? Any idea about the current waitlist?

I have heard great things about it and we applied for the 3 year old class this year. My son is #14 on the waitlist which is pretty good, but I still don't think he will get in because it is so popular. I have a friend whose daughter was #7 on the waitlist for the 2 year old class last year and she did get in in January, but she did not take the spot. I have another friend who applied for the 2 year old class this year and is #60! Needless to say, it is very popular.

We go there. The waitlists are very long. Our neighbor is 88 for the 2 year old class. I got lucky and got #1 for the I/T class 2 years ago.

It's a great program and we've been very happy.

I have heard of a number of current 3's going off to private schools so, PP, I think you have a good chance of getting in.

You never know what will happen. I would keep calling to check where you are on the list. I called a couple of times and we got in just after labor day.

Thanks PP for your encouragement (I'm the one with #7 on the wait list). We are also on the wait list at Trinity (#1) but we've been in the same position for months now and nothing has moved so I'm starting to get discouraged about it.

I just really want for her to get a spot to go 5 days as she currently attends preschool 5 days a week (we are in another city right now but moving back to Arlington this summer).

Basically whoever tells me first that she has a 5 day spot we'll take it!!!

Hi- I am the PP who goes to MOPS. Trinity is a great program, as well. You can't go wrong either way. I totally think you are going to get into one if not both.

Just an update in case anyone is interested in following preschool wait list movement....

We have not heard peep about Mt. Olivet (DD is #7 for the 4 year old 5 day program) but finally heard back from Trinity and she got a 5-day spot there.

We started off as #4 on the wait list for that program, but quickly went up to #1 on the list and just got offered a spot yesterday. We'll be enrolling her there and dropping off the Mt. Olivet wait list.

Good luck to everyone else who is still waiting for a spot!

Are Trinity and Mt. Olivet full day preschool programs? From the Mt. Olivet website, it appears that they only offer half-day programs.

Thanks!

One more update for those who might be curious to know how the wait lists are going. We were #7 on the Mt. Olivet wait list and just last week were offered a 3-day spot (4 year old program) which we turned down because we had already registered my daughter at Trinity. So in the end both preschools came through with openings....

Any more movement on these waitlists? My son is #5 for the three year old program (2 days a week) and I am crossing my fingers he still might have a chance of getting in! I called about two weeks ago and suppose I could call again, but I don't want them to feel like I am harrassing them!
