It’s based on a hoax letter to the New England journal of medicine. Consider it similar to the vaccine- autism nejm hoax. It’s composed of sodium and glutamic acid, which is an essential amino acid that we all consume in abundance in the form of proteins. So it’s nothing that our body doesn’t see regularly.

Stop. No it isn’t. Asian food can be made without it. Maybe dishes don’t even have it to begin with. It isn’t even an essential herb or spice, it is just an additive. It’s no different than asking for a dish to be prepared with less salt. |
