If your 2-year-old did preschool 3 mornings a week….

Did you have him or her do 3 mornings a week again at age 3 or did you move to 5 mornings a week?

Moved to 5 days. Both kids had a hard time with 2-3 days a week because it disrupts their routine. They thrived going 5 days with the structure and social aspect of school.

3 days a week. I wanted some time with them.

5 mornings. It is going well and very helpful as we have a baby now also. I probably would have done 4 days if the baby wasn't in the picture because all of the activities for this age are in the morning so it is nice to have that option.

I stuck with 3 because the class size was smaller than the 5 day a week class.

This.

You know your kids best. My 3-year olds only did 2 days (and then 4 for Pre-K) and didn't have any issues.

I was home and wanted the extra time with them.

We do two days a week and it’s great. 5 days a week would be wayyyy too much for our family. It’s a personal decision.

Three days a week at 2, then moved to 5 days but this is really specific to your individual kid. Three days was plenty for mine at two; preschool was really exhausting for him at that age. My mom and MIL took turns watching him the other days so it worked great for everyone.

By three he was more than up for a full five day schedule.

Just started my 2 year old at 5 days a week daycare and they're obsessed. They love all the songs, playing with others and different toys. We did "daycare" instead of "preschool" because we liked the preschool curriculum of the daycares more (the preschools were mostly just a few hours a week and religious) and it's nice to have my kid nap there. I pick up right after nap.

This is the only thing I can’t stand about our preschool and why I could never do more than two days. I would 1000 times prefer them napping at home and I wish it were 3 hours in the morning instead of morning - early afternoon. My kids are exhausted, don’t get nearly enough sleep, and I get the worst of them when they get home. Obviously given that I have the polar opposite views of PP, it’s very individual.

DC went three half-days per week when in the 2s class, and is doing the same thing this year in 3s. It’s been a good balance for us.

I think the choice is individual to each family, but for us, we were happy with 2-3 days for both the 2s and 3s classes (and completely skipped 2s for my second and third kids). I am a SAHM, and like to schedule things like swim lessons for my preschooler during the day. I also like to limit the back and forth in the car for my youngest when I can, because our afternoons can be really busy with the older kids’ activities. So a few mornings when we don’t have to be anywhere are golden.
