I am 48yr old had ankle surgery as a kid. Now I have heel pain and looks like developing plantar fasciitis. Who should I see ortho specialist in foot or podiatrist.

You should see a manual physical therapist who will work on your calf to resolve your plantar fasciitis

Agree. I thought I need to see a dr before a physical therapist to get a diagnosis so asking who to go to.

I suffer from plantar fasciitis and strongly recommend NOT going to a podiatrist. They will try to give you a shot to numb the pain and sell you orthotics. Not actually treat it.

Dr. Davis is an orthopedist and awesome: https://www.orthooic.com/blog/foot-and-ankle-treatment/

Dr. Neufeld or Dr. Cuttica (same practice)--orthos that specialize in feet.

Either is fine, but agree that PT is most useful. Insoles and more supportive shoes may also help.

No they're not. They're dedicated foot surgeons.

NP Here. Can you recommend a physical therapist for PF?

There are a number of exercises designed to stretch the fascia and tendons around the ankle and heel. You can also wear a night splint to eliminate plantar flexion. You can probably find some videos on this. Good luck. It can be a difficult issue to treat.
