Progesterone from HRT is making me incredibly tired

During the day, not just at night. I feel tired/sleepy and lightheaded. If you experienced this, was there a solution? I have a call in to my doctor.

Do you take it in the morning or at night? I was taking it at night and still feeling dizzy the next day. I stopped and went back to using a progesterone oil but I am not on estrogen too.

How much are you taking, how often and when do you take it? Most people take it 200mg 12 days/month or 100mg every day. You are supposed to take it at night before bed.

If you are doing one of those and are lightheaded all day talk to your doctor.

How long have you taken it? Maybe you need time to adjust. But if it’s been a couple of weeks I’d check in with the doctor.

Wait until it makes you fat and bloated too. That’s next.

I went off it and felt great after and the bloat/water weight was gone in a few weeks.

Progesterone does that to me. I was out on progesterone only BC after a crazy heavy never ending gushing period. I stopped taking it cold turkey after a couple months.

Not on anything now. No HRT. Age 53- almost 54- Just Wellbutrin and feel great.

My NO calls progesterone a feel good hormone and would make you drowsy. Maybe your dose is too high. I had very little effect from the bioidentical type for HRT and now use the progesterone only pill and estrodial patch. That and a Prozac low dose and I feel pretty good. All that to say you may need to play with dose or type.

Bull $hit! Progesterone does the opposite, it does not make you fat and bloated. It replenishes and and evens out your hormones. You have something else going on likely metabolic syndrome. You taking antidepressants isn't the right approach. Good luck though!
