Minnesota - hot dish. Had no idea this was even a thing, and I've been in this Earth for decades. And some of them apparently put tater tots in it?

| Lane cake |
| salt potatoes (from reddit thread on upstate NY) |
What is this? |
| Who cares??! |
Alabama Lane Cake, also known as prize cake. Sort of like a very southern german chocolate cake style cake but with bourbon and peaches and coconut https://www.southernliving.com/recipes/the-lane-cake-recipe |
On it. We put tater tots on it, not in it. And there’s not one hot dish, there are hundreds and you’ve eaten them. They’re called “casseroles” everywhere else. |
How far are salt potatoes from steamed cheeseburgers, geographically? I’ve got a vague New York food map. |
I grew up in Alabama and have never heard of this cake. |
Steamed cheeseburgers?? Don’t know about that one… Not PP, but also a NYer. Salt potatoes are Syracuse. You also have garbage plate, then Utica greens, half moons, and riggies (though these 3 are central NY, not statewide. |

I think steamed cheeseburgers are from CT |
