Recommend a home intercom system

We moved into a larger house and find that communicating with each other is now more difficult (unanticipated consequence of space).

Any good home intercom systems out there?

Can’t you just call or text? We had an intercom system in the late 80s…..

Same here. We haven't used our intercom system in years. We text/call.

+ 1.
Do you have young children therefore they don’t have phones?

I so wish we had an intercom.

I don’t want to be even more glued to my phone and same with young kids.

You can do broadcasts with Alexa and Google Home, but it’s tedious and slow and doesn’t allow a real conversation

Oh you can drop in on Alexa decides but equally tedious. Not sure if you still need a phone to do that

Hi OP here - I'd love a system where I push a physical button and can instantly talk to another device. Not finding much through basic googling.

I have a system that when I need DH to emerge from his man-cave or workshop, I simply belt out, “Sweetheart!”.
Has worked well for 26 years.
