Residency Question- Towson

My DD, who was born and raised solely in Montgomery County, got marked as OOS, pending review, on her admission to Towson.

What might have caused this? She definitely marked in state on her application, her high school is a public in the state, and we pay taxes solely in the state.

I am sure it will be corrected but I’m just curious as to what might have happened.

Yes, received OOS acceptance today as well. We are 100% MD residents! So bizarre.

Not sure why they're rushing decisions out if they're not completely done. From what DS showed me it appears the residency determinations are yet to be made.

Same here. Lifetime MD residents. Agree, very odd. They must know this will cause agitation.

Same. DD got out of state admission yesterday. Hope this isn’t a system-wide glitch or something!

It probably is a system wide glitch if many MoCo people are getting out of state admissions.

13:12 here. Funny, right after I posted here, I received an email from Towson saying not to be concerned about the residency part. They are going to review residency in their usual timeframe and will confirm MD residency status by mid-January. So it sounds like they wanted to extend admissions offers early but will take the time to process that end of the application later. I’m also waiting to get a copy of the original admission message from DD. Wondering if they have any scholarships or Honors admission offers yet or if that will be assessed later.

Confirming receipt of today's email as well. They must be getting calls. As someone above mentioned they should have know this would cause some agitation.

My kid got the same acceptance yesterday, followed by an email today that they would be updating residency status in January.

Ha. My kid got in and never mentioned this to us (we aren't looking at the acceptance emails...yet)
