This is embarrassing on many fronts, but my former employer went under. Wasn't being paid on time and so my credit is shot - multiple missed payments on credit cards, nothing worse than that, but my credit is way down.
I got a new job this month and I'm eligible for a corporate card. Wondering if they check my credit history before approving me? I would really rather my new employer NOT know my shitty credit score. Working to bring it back up to what it was, but it won't be instantaneous so in the meantime...wondering if I should just not fill out paperwork for my corporate card yet. |
| Mine did a soft credit check. |

Do you even have the option of using a personal card at your company? Some companies mandate the corporate card.
Has the previous credit debt been paid? Have you tried calling the credit card company to see if they are willing to update their credit reporting? I would explain to my company vs trying to hide it. |

We went to corporate card a couple of years back and it sucks - I used to get miles and now don't. Was like a $5k pay cut.
That said, I really don't care if the bill ever gats paid cuz it ain't my money. They didn't do a credit check for the card, not even when they upped the limit. I do believe they did a credit check an initial employment. The corporate card also doesn't affect my credit score. |
