| the price tag on gifts even though you know that she paid nowhere near the full price. Or is this just my mother? It’s so obnoxious. |
| She probably assumes you are returning it so she leaves the tag on. |
That’s what a gift receipt is for which is never included. |
| They can be really hard to peel off. Why does it irk you so much? |
| I thought you were talking about your mother abandoning you based on the title of the thread. Such a drama llama!! |
I always hated leaving tags on gifts but now that I'm getting forgetful and often do past minute shopping, its not a guarantee that I would remember and bother. I don't wrap either, just throw gifts in gift bags. Don't do cards either. |
This^. Nobody got time and nobody is trying to fool anyone, prices and discounts are common knowledge thanks to internet. |
Hi, tiresome drama llama lady. You aren’t in middle school anymore. Please join the rest of us in speaking like an adult. |
| Is she Asian? This is something my Asian MIL does. |
| I don’t care. My parents do this sometimes because they’ve somewhat forgetful with age. It’s not like the price of a Jo Malone perfume is some state secret. |
NP. Why does this term trigger you so much? |
At the very least I thought it was going to be a fun thread about mothers storming out of Christmas pageants or Thanksgiving dinner for some crazy reason or other. Not.....price tags. What a buzzkill. |
Not really |
My mother used to make the effort to peel off the sticker or obscure the price, but it was a hassle, looked bad, and everyone knows the "retail" price on the tag is a joke. Like anyone has ever actually spent $44 for a children's pajama set at Kohl's. We know that price was just made up. |
Same here. Your mother doesn't have great manners. But you knew that. |
