Looking to purchase a simple (but delicious) chocolate cake with chocolate icing for my child's birthday tomorrow. Where can I walk in and pick up a cake?

I've never had a bad cake from Harris Teeter. They're excellent.

We love a grocery store cake in our house, so I'd suggest that. Though I've found Giant/Safeway to be better than Harris Teeter for the basics. Trader Joe's baked goods always taste stale, so I'd pass on those.

Wegmans has the best store-bought cakes imo.

Les Delices.
I liked Stella but I haven’t bought from there recently.

the chocolate cake at Wegman's is excellent. It has a name - maybe death by chocolate or something?

Don't go for red velvet. It's dry. Frosting is good though.

Wegmans. I also love Giant's cakes, but not for chocolate, specifically.
