| Coming from MD. First time participating in this tournament. Our games are 2-3 hours apart. What do most parents do? Stick around? Do home? I don't find any family friendly restaurants in the area. |
| Depends where games are being held. What’s the field location(s)? |
| You don't find any family friendly restaurants in Capitol Hill or Upper NW or by Witter? Or you don't find a town center with a Panera? |
District Cup is held at RFK |
It's a tournament. You're talking at least 300-400 kids and family members there are no places near those fields for them to hang out at lol. |
Only partially. See above post for other locations. |
There are tons of places. You have to drive to a town center from Covenant. Go to Union Market. Go to the Roost. Go to District Taco. [If at RFK] If at Jelleff, go shopping on Wisconsin. Go to Cactus Cantina. If at Jackson Reed Go to comment ping pong If at Witter go to the strip mall across the street. |
Go see the trains at the Botanical Gardens. Go to a Smithsonian. |

Have the people replying ever been to this tournament? It has over 2000 kids. Add parents and it's about 6000 people. DC is not car friendly so if you're coming from VA or MD it's very hard to find a place to rest for 2-3 hours. All the places above don't have parking for 200 cars.
In the past we've packed food/games and rested in the car. My teams have also gone to restaurants, but not as a full team. Not enough seats for 12-16 kids and 30 parents. You could go to a museum or similar places, but again it goes back to parking and if kids want to walk around after playing soccer in 40 degree weather. And they have to play again in 2-3 hours. There is no great way to rest up for this tournament unless you live in DC or just across in MD. |
This is a pretty absurd "analysis." The locations are all over the city and in Alexandria, and the games are obviously not all at the same time. There won't ever be anything close to 2000 kids at any one place at any time. What do you mean by rest? Do you need a shopping mall? There are definitely restaurants in all of the locations that can handle a team, or three, at a time. These are major metropolitan areas that host much larger events all-the-time. (like, any regular weekend when the weather is nice). |
This. Also this tournament is TINY compared to Bethesda Premier Cup or SAC or ASIST. RFK only has 6 small sided fields going at a time. I think you'll be ok, soccer Mom. Frankly, the worst part of this tournament is the Witter parking |

Pay no attention to the terrible ideas sent to TMs and Coaches today... but if you want them?

Download parkmobile in advance and you'll be ok. Go to the Roost at mid day, It'll blow your Severna Park mind. |
| If you are one of the the teams that got moved from Witter to Limerick, there's a big brewery/beer hall right there that's a good time killer |
+1. I had no idea people find activities during breaks. Ipads, movies, portable chargers, headphones, blankets, lunchbag with ice packs and snacks. 2-3 hours is not long for a tournament break. My ds and I like to pull up a premier league game or highlights and watch together. |
