OPK / timing q

Hi - hope someone can advise. I got pregnant our first month of trying, without charting or anything like that, just the first month unprotected, but had a missed m/c. Period didn't return so took prometrium for 'jump start,' which worked and I've gotten regular periods since (despite major life stress). Couldn't read 'line' opk's so got the smiley face one (Clearblue) and got a positive this morning, for the first time.

So a few things:

- We had sex last night. Should we try again tonight? Not tonight, but tomorrow? Both?
- Can the smiley tests ever read positive without detecting actual ovulation?

Unless your DH has sperm issues, feel free to do it as much as you like.

Yup, the more the better.

Not common but you can get a + opk and not ovulate. Charting temperatures will confirm ovulation

I don't think he does, but we've not had reason to test. I had heard every other day ... but will try today and tomorrow just in case!

Yes there is that saying about every other day, but in reality (as I've been told by my ob/gyn and RE) unless he's got count/motility issues, you can go every day. The reason they tell you to hold off a day is so he can build up his count again. But if he has no issues, then no need to build up the count.

The month we were successful using the digi OPK we did it the night before the smiley face and then the next three days...so four days in all...Bases must have been covered b/c I got preggo.

Yes do it tonight and tomorrow- you will cover your bases.
