| I am considering buying a light interior car. I love how it looks. I have two kids (11 and 13). They play soccer. Well behave. Is the light interior (leather / fake leather) a bad idea? |
| I have a 10yo car with light tan leather. Looks amazing other than a faint blue rub-off from jeans at contact points on the drivers seat. I use leather cleaner once a year or so and it comes right off. I’ve had the car since my teen was a toddler. I highly prefer light interiors. |
| Thank you! Very helpful. |
+1. I don’t have one now - they are hard to find - but I fondly remember a Mustang II from the late ‘70s with tan interior - a beauty! |
| My light interior has held up fine with the family. |
| I miss my light tan interior car. The dark grey I have now shows every grain of sand and dog hair. |

I have a tan interior but it's not leather. I hate it!
Next vehicle I buy has to be either a dark gray or black. |
| I hate dark interiors. I gotta keep a flashlight in the door pocket to look for stuff on the floor even in daylight. I dropped an SD card in my car and it took five minutes to find it. On lighter carpet it would’ve been spotted in one second. |
| Nothing but tan interiors, except for a light grey Honda many years ago and a mid-brown convertible, all leather. All black feels too claustrophobic and hot in summer. No issues with kids other than periodic cleaning and conditioning. Most leather and synthetic products are treated with sealants. |
| My tan leather interiors were ok, there was some denim transfer though. I liked them but liked a car with black this time. I would be more worried if it’s fake leather. |
+1. Similar experience here. I will get another light interior. |
I’d be more worried if it’s real. |
Really? I've had a tan interior with leather for 2 cars and wear jeans all the time, and no issues. No issues with kids either OP. |
It’s not a big deal. We both said we’d still get tan interior. |
