Stabbing at The Connecticut House 4500 block Connecticut Ave NW in Forest Hills just before 8 pm

Drove by the aftermath, think the stabbing happened inside an apartment not on sidewalk, but anyone know for sure? This is in addition to several stabbings at The Brandywine across the street, and a daytime shooting outside The Saratoga, a block away, in recent weeks.

Connecticut House was named a "nuisance property" by the AG in 2022, but clearly still has serious safety and security issues. As does The Brandywine.

Connecticut House was also where a young woman was strangled, in front of her toddler, and thrown out an upper story window. She lived but will be in a wheelchair for life. Think that guy is at least held pending trial, he was a felon in possession.

So was the guy who shot 5 women and killed one a block up at The Days Inn a year or so ago. In that instance, a judge who used to be a public defender, had him out pending trial, even after other violent crimes on release. He recently shot into an occupied home, probably witnesses for one of his crimes, so now he's held in MD.

My illusions about how DC actually works are falling somewhat. So, the neighborhood is good for that reality check.

People wanted “urban vibrancy” in Ward 3.

Ward 3 had not one, but two chances to elect a different CM who would have fought to try and pause the voucher program. Instead we get the one guy that actually wants more of this.
