What “new” staple does your kid love but swore they would just hate?

We found a loaded fauxtato soup recipe in a Southern cookbook. You use cauliflower instead of 🥔.

My kid swore they would hate it and said they would make something else. We said just try a small ramekin. They loved it and when it gets cold we make it almost weekly!

Certain indian curries. They used to hate spicy food, and tangy food. Now they love the spice, as long as it's not too tangy.

I made Roast potatoes a few months ago. DD has had them before but a few years ago decided she didn’t like potatoes anymore. So when I made them with a roast chicken, gravy and veg she was adamant she wasn’t eating them…. She ate like 8 I think. Now they’re one of her favorite foods again.
